Domestic Ordering and Payment
Q: How can I place an order?
A: You may order by phone, website, or mail using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Individuals ordering by mail must include payment (credit card number, expiration date and cardholder name; check or money order).Shipping and handling are waived with all prepaid orders over $250. California residents, please add the appropriate sales tax.
Purchase Order Sales
Q: Can I submit a purchase order?
A: Yes. Submit your purchase order by mail or fax (888) 287-9975 -- but do not do both, your order may be duplicated. Institutions that do not have purchase order forms must use professional letterhead stating, “This constitutes an official purchase order form,” and have it signed by an administrative official. Purchase orders from the website: Add items to shopping cart, go to checkout, and print the list. Submit the printed list along with your order on official purchase order form or professional letterhead signed by an administrative official. All billed purchase orders allow 10% shipping & handling fee.
Q: Do you charge sales tax and handling fees?
A: Yes. California customers allow sales tax. No sales tax if you are outside the state of California. Handling fee that includes ground shipping is 10% of the order price, with a $5.00 minimum (15% Handling Fee for Alaska and Hawaii). California customers: Handling fees are taxable. No handling fee on prepaid orders over $250.00. (check, money order, credit card).
All orders in the U.S. under $250.00 are shipped via ground carriers unless otherwise requested. Please allow 2-10 business days for delivery.
If you request expedited delivery on your order, please include your street address for prompt service.
Q: What are your shipping and handling charges?

Q: Is expedited delivery available?
A: Yes. An additional fee will be charged on all special shipping requests. Shipping options include: overnight, 2nd day, 3rd day, and expedited ground delivery. Prices vary depending on your location and weight of package, so call us for an estimate. If you are ordering online, please use the “Order Notes” box to request a faster delivery, and we will charge your credit card for shipping. Expedited delivery services do not deliver to a PO Box. Please be sure to include your street address when requesting a expedited delivery.
Q: When will my order be shipped?
A: Orders ship within 5 business days of when they are received.

Q: Can anyone purchase assessment materials?
A: Assessment sales are restricted to qualified professionals. Orders for assessments must be placed on official institutional purchase order forms or professional letterhead.
We adhere to the principles presented in the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing published by the AERA, APA, and NCME. Assessments in our catalog are for use by those who have or are under the supervision of an individual who has a minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field.
Qualification Level A: No special qualifications required. These materials are usually informal, such as observational checklists.
Qualification Level B: At least a master's degree required, with state licensure OR certification from a professional organization (ASHA, AOTA, APA, AERA, ACA, AMA, NASP, NAN, INS) that requires formal training and experience in ethics, psychometrics, statistics, and test scoring and interpretation. Tests of perceptual, academic, and functional processes used in schools, clinics, and rehabilitation settings are of this level.
Qualification Level C: Restricted to persons with Level B qualifications and/or a doctoral degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field, with formal training and experience in ethics, psychometrics, statistics, and test scoring and interpretation. These tests are usually considered sensitive and assess intellectual and/or personality characteristics for clinical diagnostic purposes.

International Sales and Payment
Q: Do you accept orders from outside the U.S.?
A: Customers outside the United States are encouraged to first contact one of our international distributors. If a distributor is not available in your area, you may place an order directly with Academic Therapy. Additional shipping and handling charges may apply however. The order must be placed on a credit card tied to an account drawn on a U.S. bank. Add either 30% of the total, or $20.00 (whichever is greater) to cover additional shipping costs. A 10% shipping & handling fee applies to all orders under $250.00. We ship internationally via Air Mail Insured.
Q: What is your returns policy?
A: You may return an item within 30 days of purchase, as long as the item is in saleable condition. Please call (800) 422-7249 for instructions.
Q: Are desk copies available?
A: Desk copies of Teaching Reading Sourcebook and Assessing Reading Multiple Measures are available for college instructors who plan to adopt one of these titles for course instruction. Desk copies are invoiced after shipping and will be credited in full upon course adoption and receipt of college bookstore order. If course is not adopted within 60 days, you may return the book or pay the invoice in full. Only one complimentary exam copy will be available per course, and subsequent bookstore order.
