Description The FrSBe fills a gap in the assessment of frontal systems behavioral syndromes by providing a means to identify and quantify disordered natural behavior so that problems may be targeted for treatment. The FrSBe provides a brief, reliable, and valid measure of three frontal systems behavioral syndromes: - Apathy
- Disinhibition
- Executive dysfunction
The 46-item behavior rating scale is much easier and less time-consuming to administer than a neuropsychological battery and can quantify behavioral change over time.
The FrSBe was normed on a sample of 436 individuals. Data are also provided for several clinical groups, including frontotemporal dementia, frontal lesions, nonfrontal stroke, head injury, Alzheimers disease, Huntingtons disease, and Parkinsons disease.
Administration and Scoring Paper and pencil administration can be completed quickly. Each item is rated on a 1-5 Likert scale. Raw scores for the three subscales (Apathy, Disinhibition, and Executive Dysfunction) and the Total are reported as T scores. Profile forms provide comparisons of behavior pre- and post-injury/illness.
