Description The MEMRY is the first and only nationally standardized rating scale specifically designed to measure everyday memory in children, adolescents, and young adults. The MEMRY provides rapid screening for memory problems and can be used to determine whether a more comprehensive evaluation is required or as a core component of a comprehensive assessment. It measures daily memory, learning, and executive aspects of memory, including working memory.
The MEMRY:
- Provides multiple perspectives about memory capacity from different raters.
- Allows for evaluation and quantification of real-world functional memory problems.
- Allows clinicians to differentiate between problems caused by memory failures versus failures due to problems with working memory and attention.
- Helps clinicians understand the impact of memory on daily functioning.
- Provides intervention recommendations based on MEMRY scores.
The MEMRY was normed on a nationally representative sample of 845 youth, 450 teachers, and 1,080 parents. The MEMRY is co-normed with the ChAMP and MVP.
Administration and Scoring Paper and pencil administration can be completed quickly. Raw scores for Learning, Daily Memory, and Executive/Working Memory Scales, and for the overall Everyday Memory Index are reported as T scores and percentiles. Three validity scales (Implausibility, Inconsistency, and Maximizing) allow analysis of validity of answers.
Reliability and Validity Results of reliability and validity studies are presented in the manual.
