Description
This enduring test offers a brief yet robust measure of both crystallized knowledge gained through education and experience - and fluid reasoning - the capacity to use logic to learn new information or solve problems. The Shipley-2 can reveal cognitive impairment by uncovering discrepancies between the two. It has updated norms, an expanded age range, and a new, nonverbal Block Patterns scale.
Administration and Scoring
The test takes about 20-25 minutes to administer and 5 minutes to score. Norms are based on a sample of 2,826 individuals. The test produces standard scores, percentiles, age equivalents, and confidence intervals, as well as a Composite score, which reflects overall cognitive ability, and an Impairment Index for adults.
