Description
The DAR-2 is a combination comprehensive testing and teaching program that can identify both areas of difficulty and areas of strength for struggling readers. It can also demonstrate to students what they already know about reading and the next steps they need for improvement.
The DAR-2 comes in two parallel forms (A and B) and assesses nine skill areas:

Once assessment is completed, teachers can utilize DAR Trial Teaching Strategies (TTS), available online for up to 5 authorized users per kit.
Administration and Scoring
The DAR-2 is untimed but can be administered and scored in about 40 minutes. The Interpretive Profile synthesizes information about individual student achievement. The manual and the Response Record form contain complete directions for scoring, including facsimiles of scored pages.
