Description
The MFaCTS-E is designed to evaluate and track progress in math fluency and calculation skills appropriate to grades 1 through 5. Content is derived from national curriculum standards and recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Academy of Sciences. With three equivalent forms (A, B, and C), the MFaCTS-E can be used for initial evaluation and progress monitoring without concern about practice effects.

There are two sections: Fluency (with separate timed tests for grades 12 and grades 35) and Calculation (grades 15); the booklets have space for students to do their calculations:

• Fluency: Grades 1-2 (100 items) tests basic addition and subtraction
• Fluency: Grades 3-5 (100 items) tests basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Calculation: Grades 1-5 (50 items) presents calculation problems

Administration and Scoring
Test administration takes 20-30 minutes. Raw scores for both subtests are converted to standard scores and percentiles. Other metrics (T-scores and z-scores) are also given, as well as age- and grade-level norms.
