Description
The Gray Diagnostic Reading Tests-Second Edition (GDRT-2 assesses specific abilities and weaknesses in students who have difficulty reading continuous print. Four core subtests (Letter/Word Identification, Phonetic Analysis, Reading Vocabulary, Meaningful Reading) and three supplemental subtests (Listening Vocabulary, Rapid Naming, Phonological Awareness) measure skills important for learning to read. Subtest scores yield three composites: Decoding (sight/phonetic analysis), Comprehension (individual words/connected text), and General Reading.
Administration and Scoring
The GDRT-2 is individually administered and can be completed in about 45-60 minutes. Subtests are reported as scaled scores; composite scores are reported as standard scores. Percentile ranks, age equivalents, grade equivalents, and descriptive ratings are also provided. Two parallel forms are provided.
