Description
The GSRT provides a quick and efficient measure of silent reading comprehension. The GSRT is a new addition to the Gray reading test battery. It consists of two parallel forms, each containing 13 developmentally sequenced reading passages with five multiple-choice questions.
The test subgroups included males, females, European Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, Learning Disabled, Serious Emotional Disturbance, and Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, to eliminate sources of cultural, racial, and gender bias. The GSRT can be used with the Gray Oral Reading Tests-3 (GORT-3).
Administration and Scoring
Each form of the test yields raw scores, grade equivalents, age equivalents, percentiles, and a Silent Reading Quotient. The two forms of the test allow assessment of individual reading progress over time.
