Description
Designed for both special and general education students, this new self-report inventory assesses 10 important constructs - 7 focusing on student strengths: Study StrategiesNote Taking and Listening SkillsReading and Comprehension StrategiesWriting and Research SkillsTest-Taking StrategiesOrganizational TechniquesTime Management and 3 focusing on student liabilities:Low Academic MotivationTest AnxietyConcentration and Attention Difficulties.
Two forms are provided: a Child Form (ages 8 through 12) and a Teen Form (ages 13 through 18); each is written at the 3rd grade reading level and utilizes a 4-point response scale. An audio CD is provided to use with those who are poor readers, and an intervention guide has been added.
Administration and Scoring
Each of the SMALSI forms can be completed in about 20-30 minutes and provides multiple scores, rather than one overall score. An audio CD is provided to use with those who are poor readers, and an intervention guide has been added.
