Description The TOSS-P is a receptive and expressive diagnostic test designed to assess a students semantic skills. The TOSS-P includes a wide range of receptive and expressive tasks, meeting the need for a comprehensive diagnostic test of semantics:
Receptive Tasks:
- Identifying Labels points to an item named
- Identifying Categories points to a member of a category that is named
- Identifying Attributes given an attribute, points to the appropriate item
- Identifying Functions points to an item whose functions have been described
- Identifying Definitions points to an item that has been defined
Expressive Tasks:
- Stating Labels names an item in a picture
- Stating Categories given three members of a category, names the category
- Stating Attributes describes an item by stating one of its attributes
- Stating Functions describes what an item does or what we do with the item
- Stating Definitions defines an item
Administration and Scoring Administration of the TOSS-P takes about 25-30 minutes, using realistic line illustration scene pictures based on the themes of Learning and Playing, Shopping, Around the House, Working at School, Eating, and Health and Fitness.
