Description
The LCT-A:NU evaluates a students abilities in listening comprehension skills. Teachers can use the results to help students improve their skills and behaviors in the classroom and in everyday listening situations. The test can be used to identify students who have specific language impairments, to plan interventions, and to represent listening comprehension in research studies. The LCT-A:NU includes five subtests:

• Details
• Reasoning
• Vocabulary and Semantics
• Understanding

The LCT-A:NU was normed on a stratified, nationally representative sample.

Administration and Scoring
Administration of the LCT-A:NU takes about 35-40 minutes. Raw scores are converted to scaled scores for the subtests and to a standard score for the total Listening Comprehension Index.

Reliability and Validity


• Cronbachs Alpha value was 0.94 for the Listening Comprehension Index.
• A Listening Comprehension Index cutoff score of 90 resulted in a sensitivity of 0.71, a specificity of 0.79, and a ROC/AUC of 0.82.
