- Ages 5 through 85+
- Testing Time: 15-25 for ages 5 through 7; 35-45 for ages 8+

- Qualification Level B
Description The WRAT-5 provides an accurate and easy-to-administer way to assess and monitor reading, spelling, and math skills and helps identify possible learning disabilities. The WRAT-5 evaluates skills relevant to learning, job readiness, and functional academic skills, and has uses beyond the classroom setting. The WRAT-5 includes four subtests: - Word Reading - untimed letter identification and word reading
- Sentence Comprehension - the ability to identify the meaning of words and comprehend the ideas and information in a sentence using a modified cloze procedure
- Spelling - the ability to write letters and words from dictation
- Math Computation - the ability to count, identify numbers, solve simple oral math problems, and do timed calculation of written math problems
The WRAT-5 was normed on a nationally representative sample of 2,000+ individuals.
Administration and Scoring The WRAT-5 can be administered in 15-25 minutes for younger examinees, and in 35-45 minutes for those 8 years and older. Grade-based start points and ceiling rules minimize testing burden. Streamlined rules and clear guidelines allow for easier scoring. Subtest scores are reported as standard scores and percentile ranks. Word Reading and Sentence Comprehension scores can be combined to create a Reading Composite score.
Reliability and Validity Cronbachs Alpha values for the subtests and Composite range from the upper 0.08s to 0.09s. Results of validity studies are reported in the Manual.
