Arizona Articulation Proficiency Scale - 3 (ARIZONA-3)

- Ages 1-6 through 18
- Qualification Level B
Arizona-3 provides a comprehensive assessment of articulation in children from 18 months to 18 years in just 3 minutes. By the child naming objects depicted on 42 cards, all major speech sounds in the English language are sampled, including initial and final consonants and blends, vowels, and diphthongs.
In addition, three optional tasks are included that enhance the test's clinical usefulness: the Word Reading Administration option is an alternate method for administering the standard Articulation Test; and the Language Screening and Spontaneous Speech tasks (these two are not scored) allow you to form an impression of overall language skills. The Arizona-3 was standardized on a nationally stratified sample of more than 5,500 children.
Administration and Scoring
Arizona-3 provides gender-specific norms up to age 6 years. The Total Score, which indicates the severity of articulation deviation, can be reported in several formats: intelligibility descriptions, severity designations, percentile rankings, standard scores, and normal curve equivalents.
